Children’s Theatre of Knoxville, Inc. (CTK) is a newly-formed non-profit 501(c) corporation, operating under Tennessee State Charter #0561570. Donations are tax deductable.

Starting 30 minutes before each show Tickets can also be purchased at the Theatre Knoxville Downtown, our city'soldest continuously-operating community theatre.

The theatre is locatedat 319 N. Gay Street, directly across the street from Regas Restaurant.Free parking is available just a few steps from the door of the theatre inwrought-iron enclosed parking lot on the corner of Gay and Depot Streets.

Reservations are recommended.

Ticket prices for the performances are $9 per person. Any adult and child entering together to see the play for $7 per person.

CTK Classes and Workshops

ENROLLMENT UNDERWAY for SPRING TERM of
IMAGI-STAGE and
MATINEE CLUB CLASSES

CTK is now accepting students for our spring term of creative dramatics classes.

Imagi-Stage classes are held after-school and specialize in teaching the Basics of creative dramatics in a practical setting: through the rehearsal and performance of a short 20-minute play. Imagi-Stage classes are taught by CTK's Producing Director Zack Allen, who has directed CTK's recent productions of, “Wind in the Willows”.

Matinee Club classes take place on Saturdays and teach performance basics And character creation through a fun and lively series of games, exercises, and Classroom work.

Imagi-Stage classes for ages 8 to 12

Imagi-Stage classes for ages 8 to 12 will take place after-school (from 4 PM to 5:30 PM) for five consecutive Tuesday afternoons, beginning March 24.
Classes occur March 24, 31; April 7, 14 & 21. At 5:15 on April 21, students will Perform the short play they have rehearsed during the class. Classes will occur at Theatre Knoxville Downtown (319 N. Gay St.). The instruction fee for the 8 hour workshop is $125. To reserve a spot in this class, e-mail CTK Artistic Director Jenny Ballard at jenny@childrenstheatreknoxville.com .

Payment of 50% of class fee is expected upon reservation. Students are seated on a first-paid, first-seated basis. Class size is limited to eight students maximum. If more than eight wish to be enrolled, a second section will be considered on the same times and dates at an nearby location.

Imagi-Stage classes for ages 13 to 17

Imagi-Stage classes for ages 13 to 17 will take place after-school (from 4 PM to 5:30 PM) for five consecutive Thursday afternoons, beginning March 26.

Classes occur March 26; April 2, 9, 16 & 23. At 5:15 on April 23, students will Perform the short play they have rehearsed during the class. Classes will occur at Theatre Knoxville Downtown (319 N. Matinee Club class for ages 6 to 10

The Spring Term topic for our Matinee Club class for ages 6 to 10 is: I Feel! I Am! I Do!
This class centers on teaching character creation as a recipe of emotion (I Feel!), identity (I Am!) and action (I Do!). Students develop interesting and Humorous characters using verbal and non-verbal skills with this effective actor's "recipe".

This class begins on Saturday, March 21 and continues for the following four Saturdays. Classes occur March 21, 28; April 4, 11 and 18. Classes will be held at Theatre Knoxville Downtown (319 N. The Spring Term topic for our Matinee Club class for ages 11 to 17 is: From Page to Stage!

Introduction to Script Analysis. Students analyze and rehearse two contrasting scenes specifically chosen for a series of creative challenges. Students learn a four-faceted approach to understanding a script and learn practical processes for bringing a character from the page to life on the theatrical stage.

This class begins on Saturday, March 21 and continues for the following four Saturdays. Classes occur March 21, 28; April 4, 11 and 18. Classes will be held at Theatre Knoxville Downtown (319 N. Gay St.). The instruction fee for the 10 hour workshop is $150.
